TRAILER: Terminator Salvation

I know this is an older release, but I still thought I should feature it, because it passes my stringent approval guidelines, and the raft of more recent trailers honestly don’t. You should probably view the teaser first, as it really gets you hyped for the full trailer, especially with the sound pumped up. Gotta love that Marco Beltrami sting, it’s genius stuff.

Terminator Salvation

Directed by McG, and starring none other than Batman himself, Christian Bale, as John Connor, Terminator 4 is a supposed sequel to Terminator 2, and follows the plight of mankind in the aftermath of Judgement day. My only worry is we won’t see enough insane, kick ass fighting, and we’ll see too many humans running away from boring robots. I want liquid metal and extreme special effects with two incredible machines tearing apart a city, not Christian Bale getting thrown around and trying to be macho! This could suck really badly, or it could live up to how the trailer looks and be a worthy successor to one of the greatest films of all time. Who knows!

PHOTOS: International Motorshow 2008

Renault F1

So there has been a little bit of a delay in publishing my photographs from the Show (it was, after all, held on the 1st August 2008) but here they are to appreciate at last. I must admit, it’s not some of my best work; this was my first motorshow, and I was bouncing off the walls with excitement the entire time, which isn’t behaviour that lends itself to photographic excellence. Regardless, I snapped many hundreds of photos, and have narrowed down my best to these 117. After processing and uploading, here they are for your enjoyment including my very favourite few detailed below. Stay tuned for photographs from the upcoming Autosport International Show, which I am attending on the 8th January 2009. Will be good times!

One of my favourite shots of the event, I’m sure I’ll replicate this at the upcoming show with many more hood ornaments.

Bentley Flying B

Also at the show was one of the my all time dream cars, the astonishing Ferrari F40.

And my last pick, so as not to bore you with opinion, is the surprisingly adorable Alfa Mito. I am hoping to get some more photographs of this at the NEC, as here it was only visible through annoyingly polished glass walls which threw off pretty much every photo I took. Oh well, live and learn I suppose, live and learn.

Oh, and you can be sure there will be plenty more tom foolery too…

TRAILER: Crank 2 High Voltage

If you do one thing today, make sure you watch this trailer for upcoming Statham extravaganza, Crank 2. Oh, and it’s definitely a Red Band, so watch your company. I love mental trailers like this; it doesn’t matter that it looks low budget and nuts, because there’s bad language, tits and explosions! It’s like Hollywood finally understands what sells movies, incredible!

This trailer also reaffirms my long held belief that adding Linkin Park makes things cooler.

TRAILER: 9

So begins my mission of at least one post per day, for the duration of 2009, with my glowing opinion of the epic trailer for 9, due for release, strangely enough, September 9th.

9

Tim Burton joins Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov to produce what I’m thinking will be one of the best films of 2009. The trailer honestly just grabbed me like nothing I’ve seen recently, and when the orchestral score kicked in I was convinced this will be something special. Make sure your speakers are turned on and turned up, and I’m sure you’ll agree.

I love the apparent grittiness of the universe, I love the originality of the characters and I absolutely love little guys kicking robot ass. If this film doesn’t live up to my lofty expectations, I will most certainly be disappointed.

Do yourself a favour and grab it in HD too, it’s mind blowingly awesome.

Twitter?

So, I figure I should start out by explaining a couple of details.

The sentence you are currently seeing on the right side of this page, below the search bar (which is broken by the way, so I wouldn’t try it) and above the archives, is my latest musing from Twitter.

What is Twitter? It’s a perfectly concise Web 2.0 app, that exists purely so people can keep others informed of their activities. Think of it as Facebook Status Updates, without the annoyance of having to start with your name. Oh, and Twitter does of course keep a log of every status update you ever make.

Why do I use Twitter? I’m not sure, to be honest, right now it feels wrong not to use it, which I guess is a sign of addiction, however, I’m reasonably sure Twitter is non-fatal, so I’m not worrying. How addicted I am is for you to decide, but keep in mind, I let Twitter know everything. When I’m awake, when I’m asleep, when I’m down, when I’m up, when I don’t know, and when I do. Everything.

And I have done since August 23rd (and no I can’t remember what the ‘time saver’ was). I have run up 1000 updates. Or, on average, nine updates per day. Every day. For the last 110 odd days.

Looks like I just jumped straight to the seventh stage.
